How are you feeling right now, both on and off the pitch?
I feel perfect at the moment. I’m in the preparation period now, and I’m fully focused because the better I prepare, the more successful and productive my season will be.
When did you first fall in love with football, and who inspired you at the beginning?
I used to play football in the yard, in my neighborhood, and that’s how I fell in love with the game. As for a footballer, of course, Messi, and as time goes by, I become more and more convinced that he is an incredible player.
What was the biggest challenge you faced growing up as a young player in Georgia?
For me, every day is a challenge. Every single day, I try to give my maximum and improve myself.
How did it feel the first time you played for Dinamo Tbilisi?
It was an amazing feeling. From the moment I joined Dinamo, my goal was to play for the first team, because I fully understood how much history Dinamo Tbilisi has for Georgia. I always believed that one day I would play, and thanks to God, that day finally came.
What do you think is the strongest part of your game today?
My speed, technical ability, and most importantly, my mentality. I always want to win, and I love being aggressive in attack.
Who has helped you the most in your development — a coach, teammate, or family member?
What helped me the most in my development is the trust of my family and the belief they have in me. That gives me great strength, because when I know that the people behind me truly believe in my success, nothing can stop me. Not only because of them that winning mentality is also inside me.
What is a normal training day like for you?
Normally, I train with the team, but if I feel that I didn’t get the load I wanted, I try to do extra individual training with the ball on my own.
What does it mean to wear the Georgian national team shirt?
I think it’s the dream of every Georgian to represent the country in their field. For me personally, wearing the national team shirt is a huge responsibility and motivation. I feel a different kind of energy, and I want to do everything possible to make my country proud.
Do you dream of playing in a specific league or country?
I believe that with God’s help, I will play big football. I see myself playing for European clubs and also representing the national team.
Which players do you watch and learn from the most?
Of course, watching Messi play since childhood, I always dreamed of playing for Barcelona.
How do you spend your free time outside of playing football?
I mostly spend my free time at home with my family. Sometimes I go out with friends and do different activities.
Who is your biggest supporter off the pitch?
My family.
What motivates you on difficult days?
I never lack motivation. Difficult days and tough matches actually excite me. I love playing under pressure.
What message would you like to send to Dinamo Tbilisi and Georgia fans?
Every footballer enjoys playing where the fans support them. The only thing I can say is: come to the games. Seeing the supporters gives huge motivation. It doesn’t matter what kind of match it is; football would be nothing without the fans.
